Baxi Group is pleased to have supported CRASH, the construction and property industries' charity for homeless people, with their latest scheme, the New Hanbury Project in Shoreditch, East London.
Run by the Spitalfields Crypt Trust, the New Hanbury Project is a training centre that offers programmes of personal development and life skills, including everyday practical skills such as cooking, painting and basic DIY skills as part of the rehabilitation of homeless men wanting to overcome alcohol and drug problems.
The ground floor of a high support hostel run by the Trust has been transformed thanks to CRASH to provide a facility that can be used to develop self esteem, encourage independence and increase the chance of employment for residents. Baxi Group donated a Heatrae Sadia Premier Plus 170L that will provide hot water for the centre.
A spokesperson for Baxi Group, who attended the official opening ceremony of the New Hanbury Project, said: "Hearing past and present residents speak about how the Spitalfields Crypt Trust has changed their lives was an uplifting and humbling experience. Both they, the Trust and CRASH are very grateful for all the contributions and donations from the construction industry that make this sort of project possible.
"Baxi Group has supported CRASH for several years, supporting its mission to improve the buildings used by homelessness charities across the UK, by donating boilers to provide vital warmth and hot water. We are pleased to continue to support this very worthwhile organisation and give something back to the community.”
