Since it was founded over 140 years ago, Baxi Group and its forbears have always been at the cutting edge of the development of new heating technologies.
In the 1930s the company launched one of the first controllable underfloor draft systems for solid fuel heating. Baxi took the home heating market by storm in the 1960s with the revolutionary space-saving Bermuda gas fired back boiler. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s Baxi continued to develop and innovate, with other important breakthroughs including, in 1989, the Baxi Solo, a low weight cast iron boiler, suitable for one man to lift while installing.
Baxi Group is still committed to finding new solutions to meet our consumers' heating needs in a more cost effective and energy efficient way. In test laboratories at our Centres of Excellence in UK, Italy, France and Germany, Baxi Group engineers and scientists are developing exciting new boiler products and pushing the boundaries in the arena of renewable technologies, including solar, heat pumps, biomass, mCHP and fuel cells.
